Overview

Island Peak Climb and Everest Base Camp Trek is combined trip in Everest. The fantastic trip is designed in a way to experience a mountain climbing and to trek popular Everest base camp trek in a single trip. 
The adventure around the stunning Imjastse valley of Everest, the great adventure first allows you to trek to the base camp of Mount Everest. The trip then diverts to climb the stunning peak of Island. The fascinating trip offers the stunning views of towering mountains including Mount Everest. Likewise, the exploration of the vibrant Sherpa villages, and the inclusion of witnessing the unique Sherpa cultures and the traditions are superb. Next, the Island peak climbing plus EBC trek also allows to visit the famous Buddhist monasteries of the Everest region. The best monasteries to visit during the trip are Tengboche Monastery and Dingboche Monastery. 
Trekking inside the Sagarmatha National Park- an UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site offers the citing of some of the endangered species; Himalayan Musk Deer, Snow Leopard etc. Likewise, Danphe- the national bird of Nepal can be seen along the way. The hike through dense rhododendron and pine forest something special. Similarly, the excellent views of high Himalayas including Mount Everest is the best part of the trip. 
The Himalayan that offers the wonderful views during the trip includes Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m-24,940 ft), Nuptse (7,855m-25,772 ft) and Lho - La or Khumbutse peak (6,036 m - 19,992ft), Mt. Lingtren (6,749 m / 22,142 ft) and Changtse (within Tibet 7,583 m / 25,230 ft), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m / 25,772 ft),  Ama-Dablam (6,812 m / 22,480 ft), Kangtenga (6,782 m / 22, 380 ft) Tharmarserku ( 6,623 m / 21, 855 ft) Kongde (6,011 m / 19,837 ft) KusumKhanguru (6,373 m / 21,030 ft) holy peaks of Khumbi-la (5,761 m / 19,012 ft) and as far towards world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27, 766 ft) including Island Peak / Imjatse (6,160 m / 20,328ft) Lobuje Peak (6,119 m / 20,192 ft) Pokhalde peak (5,806 m / 19,159 ft). 
The best time for the EBC trek and Island Peak Trek are the months of spring (March to May) and the time of autumn (September to November). Although of other months except the months of monsoon (June to August) are regarded the suitable time for the trip.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, A1 Trek representative welcomes you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. You can then take a good rest in the hotel. Later you can explore around yourself if interested.

Go for Kathmandu valley sightseeing to explore the historical and cultural city. The sightseeing is dedicated on exploring four of the UNESCO world heritages listed sites of Kathmandu valley. Those four sites include- Kathmandu durbar square, Soyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath.
After the sightseeing, you can then focus on the trek preparation. You can hire or buy the necessary equipment in Thamel. In the evening, you will be meeting your guide for the trip meeting.

With an early morning flight, you will be arriving Lukla airport. At Lukla, meet the porters before the starting the trek. The route to Phakding is easy one. Just keep on your eyes as the finest views of Kusum Kanguru can be collected. Phakding is a small settlement in the Dudh Koshi river bank. Enjoy a comfortable night stay at the Phakding teahouse.

Start the day with a good breakfast. Get into to Monjo then enter to Sagarmatha National park- the home for the greatest Himalayan flora and faunas. The dense forest of blue pine, deodar,rhododendron and more. On the clear day, you can also catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way up to Namche Bazar. With six hours of trek, you will be reaching Namche Bazar- which is also famous as the Sherpa capital. Namche is the home for the famous mountaineers. You will be staying two nights at Namche before heading up.

After the breakfast, you will be hiking up to Everest view point to collect the 360 views of mountains. The view point offers the stunning views of Himalayas including mount Everest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Namche Bazar or can take a good rest in your hotel.

After spending two amazing nights at Namche Bazaar, you will be trekking Tengboche this day. The route to Tengboche is fascinating as it covers the greatest views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and more. Tengboche is the village with the biggest Buddhist monastery in Everest. Make sure to visit Tengboche monastery. Later in the evening, you can collect the greater view of sunset in the Himalayas. The overnight will be at a local teahouse.

Start the hiking after the breakfast. The route to Dingboche is mostly uphill where you will be crossing several suspension bridges and local villages. One of the best villages you cross on the day is Pangboche village-which offers the greater views of mount Ama Dablam. Occasionally, this section offers the spotting of snow leopard and Himalayan musk deer too. Located at 4410 meters above the sea level, Dingboche is a small settlement, where you will be spending two nights.

After the breakfast, take a short hike to Nagarjun hills. It is the vintage point to collect the best views of mount Ama dablam, Lhotse, Labuche and more. Then after retrace back to the lodge and spend the day with taking a good rest.

Enter the valley of dusted snowed grasslands, you can enjoy the greater views of Amadablam, Lhotse, Pumori and more along the way. Labuche todays’ overnight place is a small Sherpa settlement with few teahouses around. Take a good sleep with the excitement of getting to Everest base camp next day.

The most exciting day, you will first trek to Gorakshep for three hours. You will then have you lunch there. Post lunch, leave your bag packs and start the hike to Everest base camp with some essentials (day pack, water, camera and some chocolates). It takes ninety minutes to get to base camp from Gorakshep. Enjoy the moments, collect the memories and leave the footprint at Everest base camp. Then retrace back to Gorakshep for the night.

Early morning, get to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise view. Kalapatthar is actually the better place to see the closer views of Mount Everest. And collecting the sunrise view at Kalapatthar is the best experience of the whole trek. You will then get back to Gorakshep for the breakfast. Then you will be starting your journey towards Chukung. You will be following the same way back to get to Lobuche then the route diverts to Chukung there onwards. You will be spending your night at one of the many teahouses at Chukung.

After spending a wonderful night at Chukung, you will be heading to Island base camp this day. The route is full of exciting mountain views. Upon arriving at Island base camp, you guide will be setting the tent for the night. You can enjoy the exciting views of Himalayas from there. You will be spending your night at a tented camp.

The day is dedicated for the acclimatization. On the free day, you will be taking some pre climbing training. You can then take a good rest on the free time.

The biggest day of the trip. You will be starting early morning, following the snow covered glacier and avoiding the crevasses, the climb progress northwards over the snow covered area between a glacier facing the ridge. Then continues through the stone and icefall to a steep snow route to take to the top of Island Peak where your dream meets the reality. From the top of Island, you can enjoy the fantastic views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Amadablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks. Then after you will be retracing back to base camp for the night.

With a successful climbing experience of Island peak, today you will be trekking back to Pangboche for via Chhukung for the night. The route offers the greater views of the high Himalayas all the way.  You will be staying overnight at Pangboche- which is a wonderful village with greater views of Himalayas. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse.

Accommodation: at a local teahouse on twin/double sharing basis.

 

The route now looks familiar as you will be taking the same route back. Following the Tengboche, with the greater views of mountains and occasional encounter of the wildlife you will be retracing back to Namche Bazar for the night. You are now in the exciting bazaar with good foods, restaurants and cafes around. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse.

The final day of the trek. You will be first retracing back to Phakding following the same route. Furthermore, from Phakding, you will be trekking back to Lukla for the night. In the evening, you can join a farewell dinner with your trekking team as you will be saying good bye to most of the members except the guide.

With collecting all the greatest memories of the trek, today you will be flying back to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu airport you will be transferred to the hotel where you can take a relaxing rest.

With all the finest memories, today you will be flying to your next destination. Our representative will be transferring to Kathmandu airport. With a hope to seeing you again in Nepal, we will be saying bye for this time.
