Overview

The Island peak climb with Everest Gokyo lakes and Everest base camp trip is a fantastic adventure inside Khumbu valley. The fascinating trip combines with three popular adventures in Everest which are Everest Gokyo lakes trek, Everest base camp trek, and Island Peak climbing. The exciting trek first goes to Gokyo valley to explore the stunning valley of Gokyo and the glacial lakes around the valley. 
It then crosses Cho La pass at 5367 meters before heading towards Everest base camp. Cho La is one of the exciting and challenging Himalayan high passes. Explore the famous Everest base camp then hike to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise or sunset views at Mount Everest. And in the final section of the Island peak climb with Everest Gokyo lakes trek and Everest base camp trip, is to climb the wonderful trekking peak of the Island. 
This trip allows to collect the picturesque views of the diverse landscapes. Exploring the vibrant Sherpa villages of Phakding, Namche, Gokyo valley and more are the other parts of the trip. The fabulous journey inside the Everest region also offers the excellent views of mountains including Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m-24,940 ft), Nuptse (7,855m-25,772 ft) and Lho - La or Khumbutse peak (6,036 m - 19,992ft), Mt. Lingtren (6,749 m / 22,142 ft) and Changtse (within Tibet 7,583 m / 25,230 ft), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m / 25,772 ft),  Ama-Dablam (6,812 m / 22,480 ft), Kangtenga (6,782 m / 22, 380 ft) Tharmarserku ( 6,623 m / 21, 855 ft) Kongde (6,011 m / 19,837 ft) Kusum Khanguru (6,373 m / 21,030 ft) holy peaks of Khumbi-la (5,761 m / 19,012 ft) and as far towards world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27, 766 ft) including Island Peak / Imjatse (6,160 m / 20,328ft) Lobuje Peak (6,119 m / 20,192 ft) Pokhalde peak (5,806 m / 19,159 ft) and more. 
The best time for the trip is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The other two season winter (December to February) and monsoon (June to August) are not recommended.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, A1 Trek representative welcomes you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. You can then take a good rest in the hotel. Later you can explore around yourself if interested.

Go for Kathmandu valley sightseeing to explore the historical and cultural city. The sightseeing is dedicated to exploring four of the UNESCO world heritages listed sites of Kathmandu valley. Those four sites include- Kathmandu durbar square, Soyambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath.
After the sightseeing, you can then focus on trek preparation. You can hire or buy the necessary equipment in Thamel. In the evening, you will be meeting your guide for the trip meeting.

With an early morning flight, you will be arriving at Lukla airport. At Lukla, meet the porters before starting the trek. The route to Phakding is an easy one. Just keep on your eyes as the finest views of Kusum Kanguru can be collected. Phakding is a small settlement in the Dudh Koshi river bank. Enjoy a comfortable night stay at the Phakding teahouse.

Start the day with a good breakfast. Get into to Monjo then enter Sagarmatha National park- the home for the greatest Himalayan flora and faunas. The dense forest of blue pine, deodar, rhododendron, and more. On a clear day, you can also catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way up to Namche Bazar. With six hours of trek, you will be reaching Namche Bazar- which is also famous as the Sherpa capital. Namche is the home for the famous mountaineers. You will be staying two nights at Namche before heading up.

After breakfast, you will be hiking up to Everest view point to collect the 360 views of the mountains. The view point offers the stunning views of the Himalayas including Mount Everest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Namche Bazar or can take a good rest in your hotel.

Taking a different route than Everest base camp, you will be walking a winding path to Kyangima. Along the way, you will get a chance to spot the wildlife including colorful Danphe, Himalayan musk deer, mountain goat, etc. The route then diverts to the north to reach the ridge of Mong then to the beautiful village of Phortse Thanga. Phortse onwards, you will be taking an uphill route to get to Dole for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local village.

Relatively short day for the trek. You will be first getting to Lhabarma Kharka then to Luza. From Luza, you will be taking a downhill route to get to Machhermo. In the afternoon you are taking a short hike to collect the excellent views of Mt Cho Oyo and other towering peaks. You will be spending the night at a local teahouse.

The scenic trail gradually leads to Gokyo valley. The rocky path into the wonderful valley passing the glacial lakes is something amazing. Upon reaching the Gokyo valley, you will get a chance to explore around the lakes after the lunch. The views of Mt Cho Oyo look even better. Enjoy exploring the wonderful valley.

The day is dedicated to the hike to Gokyo Ri and the exploration of the glacial lakes of Gokyo. Gokyo Ri offers the panorama of the world’s highest peaks from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche, and to the east rises Mt. Makalu. Then you will get back to the hotel for the lunch. Post lunch you will be exploring the beautiful lakes of Gokyo. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse.

One of the best days of the trek. The short hike leads you to Gokyo Ri to collect the stunning views of Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche, and more. After collecting the wonderful views at Gokyo Ri, you will be then taking a descending route to Thagnak for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.

You will be starting the day pretty early. The first section of the route is uphill leading towards Tsho La over the rocky moraine. The route gets tougher if there is snow and ice. Although the walking is always exciting as it covers the greater views of Cholatse, Nirekha and Taboche peaks. From the top, the route converts to the downhill to get to Dzongla for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

Start after the breakfast, the walk leads to a short steep climb with greater views of mountains, then take a gradual uphill to reach Thugla, then take further through Khumbu glacier to get to Lobuche. The sunset view at Lobuche looks absolutely stunning. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse at Lobuche.

Early morning, get to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise view. Kalapatthar is actually the better place to see the closer views of Mount Everest. And collecting the sunrise view at Kalapatthar is the best experience of the whole trek. You will then get back to Gorakshep for the breakfast. Then you will be starting your journey towards Chukung. You will be following the same way back to get to Lobuche then the route diverts to Chukung there onwards. You will be spending your night at one of the many teahouses at Chukung.

After spending a wonderful night at Chukung, you will be heading to Island base camp this day. The route is full of exciting mountain views. Upon arriving at Island base camp, your guide will be setting the tent for the night. You can enjoy the exciting views of the Himalayas from there. You will be spending your night at a tented camp.

The biggest day of the trip. You will be starting early morning, following the snow-covered glacier and avoiding the crevasses, the climb progress northwards over the snow-covered area between a glacier facing the ridge. Then continues through the stone and icefall to a steep snow route to take to the top of Island Peak where your dream meets the reality. From the top of the Island, you can enjoy the fantastic views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Amadablam 6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang, and Baruntse peaks. Then after you will be retracing back to base camp for the night.

With a successful climbing experience of Island peak, today you will be trekking back to Pangboche for via Chhukung for the night. The route offers the greater views of the high Himalayas all the way.  You will be staying overnight at Pangboche- which is a wonderful village with greater views of the Himalayas. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse. 
 

Food: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included. 
Accommodation: at a local teahouse on twin/double sharing basis.

 

The route now looks familiar as you will be taking the same route back. Following the Tengboche, with the greater views of mountains and occasional encounter of the wildlife, you will be retracing back to Namche Bazar for the night. You are now in the exciting bazaar with good foods, restaurants, and cafes around. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse.

The final day of the trek. You will be first retracing back to Phakding following the same route. Furthermore, from Phakding, you will be trekking back to Lukla for the night. In the evening, you can join farewell dinner with your trekking team as you will be saying goodbye to most of the members except the guide.

With collecting all the greatest memories of the trek, today you will be flying back to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu airport, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can take a relaxing rest.

You can take an entire day on resting at Kathmandu. You can also go to the spa or massages to give some relief for your tired body. You can also do some shopping in Thamel.

With all the finest memories, today you will be flying to your next destination. Our representative will be transferring to Kathmandu airport. With hope to seeing you again in Nepal, we will be saying bye for this time.
