Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake Trekking is one of the best treks in Nepal.  which is known as the Cho-La Pass Trek also. The extended version of the Everest base camp trek also includes crossing the high Nepal Himalayan pass of Cho-La and the views from Gokyo Ri. Exploring the Buddhist monasteries of the Everest region is also part of the finest  Everest base camp with Gokyo Lake Trekking. 
Like other trekking to Everest, the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake trek is also a seasonal trek. The best times to trek to Gokyo Lake are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Trekking Everest Gokyo Lake is also fine in December. But the other two months of winter (January and February) are not the best time. Whereas, trekking in the months of monsoon (June to August) is not recommended due to the heavy rainfall. s

Two permits are needed for the Everest Base Camp with the Gokyo Ri Trek. The first permit needed for the trek is Sagarmatha National Park entrance fees. Likewise, the next permit needed for the trek is the Pasang Lhamu Municipality entrance fee. Both of the permits can be issued on the way to the trek.

EBC Chola pass with Gokyo Lake Trail 

EBC Chola passes with the Gokyo Lake trail starting from Lukla. One of the most popular airports in the world and has an amazing flight from Kathmandu which lands at 2800m in Lukla and heads down to Cheplung, then heads up to Ghat and Phakding at 2660m. Trekking path to Everest Base camp heading up to Namche Bazaar 3,440m, which is a very popular Sherpa Village. Namche is the main gateway to Mt. Everest Base Camp Trek and any other Trekking destination in Nepal

Namche Bazar is a Historical Breakthrough with medieval monasteries, Mani walls, and prayer wheels that afford an intuition into the local culture of the Himalayan people. After this popular spot in the Khumbu region, the hike up to Everest View Hotel and heading onwards to Tengboche. Tengboche is another popular spot on the way to Everest Base Camp Trek.
Historically, Tengboche is one of the oldest monasteries in the Everest Region. The path to EBC will be more uphill. Everest Base Camp Trail running from a small Sherpa town passes through several villages including Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and many more Sherpa villages. On a Trekking trail, there are multiple times there are several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, and climb the step wall. 

Everest Base Camp Cho-la Pass with Gokyo Lake Trek gets extremely difficult from the Base Camp with terminal moraines and ice sheets. The trail to Gokyo walks through Cho La passes at 5,420m and crosses the Ngozumpa Glacier in the east. This Cho La pass joins two villages of Dzongla and Thangnak, all over the Everest Trek is called Khumbu Valley. This walking trail is a mountain and Lofty hills. From Here, the trail ascends upwards from the jagged and rocky terrain passing Thangna. 
The Trek headed to the First Gokyo lake from the village takes 3 hours and trekking further will take you to the second lake of Gokyo. Near the Third Lake, there lies a Gokyo village which comes with a stunning view of Gokyo Ri.
The fourth and fifth lakes lie beyond Gokyo Villages walking over rugged terrain with loose rocks and boulders. After arriving at the last lake, you will get a spectacular view of tranquil lakes, diverse landscapes, sheer glaciers, and breathtaking mountains. Trekkers will also climb Gokyo Ri before trekking back to Lukla with the crew of Adventure A One Private Limited.

After reaching Gokyo Valley, you will spend one night and the next morning climbing up to the Gokyo-Ri and see the views of the world’s highest peaks Mount Everest, Mount, Lhotse, Mount Makalu, Mount. Cho-Oyu, and several many small peaks. Then, walk down to the hotel, and after breakfast walk down to Machhermo. Finally, the path goes down to The Namche village and Lukla for the final departure from the Mountain to the city. 

Best Time

The Best time to Everest Base Camp Cho-la pass with the Gokyo Valley trek will be from the beginning of March to November. Late September to November and February to May is the main trekking season and months. At this time weather is fairly stable conditions and good visibility. The temperature of Everest Base Camp will be around a maximum of minus 6/10 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 15 degrees during the summertime. 

Acclimatization 

Everest Trek Acclimatization refers to the people who have the body adapting to the conditions of high altitude. While the body has lower levels of oxygen and decreasing air pressure the body needs complete rest to recover. For this kind of body maintenance, normally, trekkers take 2 extra days for acclimatization, and in many popular spots like Namche and Dingboche, people rest on that day from Namche people acclimatize to walk up to Everest View Hotel, and from Dingboche people climb to the Nagarjun hill which is around 5 thousand meters. Any of them who are unable to do with our plan can extend their plan as they need for Acclimatization. From this acclimatization point, you will get another route to heading for the Everest Gokyo ri trek. 

Difficulty 

The Difficulty Level of the Everest region trek is moderate and difficult. It depends on the age of the people age, interests, and dreams to achieve. The Trekking time requires 14 days. Even though the Everest Base Camp Cho La pass with Gokyo Valley trek requires no prior trekking Expertise. It is recommended that the trekker should be strong-minded and physically proper.

Accommodation in EBC with Gokyo Lake Trek

Accommodation in EBC with Gokyo Lake Trek is basic but comfortable. Most trekkers will stay in tea houses, which are basic lodges offering accommodation and meals. The tea houses are run by local families and provide basic amenities such as basic mattresses and blankets, hot water, and toilet facilities. The majority of tea houses provide vegetarian meals and some also offer non-vegetarian dishes.
Along the trek, trekkers will pass through villages and settlements that offer additional accommodation options. These include homestays, where trekkers can stay with local families in their homes. Homestays provide a more authentic experience and a chance to learn more about the local culture and customs. Some villages along the trek also have basic hotels, which offer more modern amenities such as hot showers and Western-style toilets.

The Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake Trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the accommodation and food options available will ensure a comfortable and memorable journey.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1334m./4376ft.).

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, the Adventure A One  Trek representative welcomes you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. You can then take a good rest in the hotel. Later you can explore around yourself if interested. 

Day 2 : Drive to Ramechhap and Fly to Lukla (30 minutes/ 2800m./ 9186ft) and trek to Phakding (2610m. /8500ft./4/5 hours trekking).

Today you plan to Drive to Ramechhap and fly to Lukla. You will be arriving at Lukla airport. At Lukla, meet the porters before starting the trek. The route to Phakding is an easy one. Just keep your eyes open as the finest views of Kusum Kanguru can be collected. Phakding is a small settlement on the Dudh Koshi river bank. Enjoy a comfortable night's stay at the Phakding tea house.

Day 3 : Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m./11286ft./ 5/6 hours trekking).

Start the day with a good breakfast. Get into Monjo then enter Sagarmatha National Park- the home to the greatest Himalayan flora and faunas. The dense forest of blue pine, deodar, rhododendron, and more. On a clear day, you can also catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way up to Namche Bazar. After six hours of trek, you will be reaching Namche Bazar- which is also famous as the Sherpa capital. Namche is the home of famous mountaineers. You will be staying two nights at Namche before heading up. 

Day 4 : Hike to Everest viewpoint (2 hours’ hike/3780m./12401ft.) and Namche Bazar exploration.

After breakfast, you will be hiking up to Everest View Point to collect 360 views of the mountains. The viewpoint offers stunning views of the Himalayas including Mount Everest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Namche Bazar or have a good rest in your hotel. 

Day 5 : Trek to Dole (4,110m /13484ft./5/6 hours’ trek).

Taking a different route than Everest base camp, you will be walking a winding path to Kyangima. Along the way, you will get a chance to spot the wildlife including colorful Danphe, Himalayan musk deer, mountain goats, etc. The route then diverts north to reach the ridge of Mong and then to the beautiful village of PhortseThanga. Phortse onwards, you will be taking an uphill route to get to Dole for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local village. 

 

Day 6 : Trek to Machherma(4,470m /14665ft./4/5hours trek).

Relatively short day for the trek. You will be first getting to LhabarmaKharka and then to Luza. From Luza, you will be taking a downhill route to get to Machhermo. In the afternoon you take a short hike to collect the excellent views of Mt Cho Oyo and other towering peaks. You will be spending the night at a local teahouse. 

Day 7 : Trek to Gokyo(4,800m/15748ft./4/5 hours’ trek)

The scenic trail gradually leads to Gokyo Valley. The rocky path into the wonderful valley passing the glacial lakes is something amazing. Upon reaching Gokyo Valley, you will get a chance to explore the lakes after lunch. The views of Mt Cho Oyo look even better. Enjoy exploring the wonderful valley. 

Day 8 : Hike to GokyoRi(5357m./17575ft./) and explore the glacial lakes.

The day is dedicated to the hike to Gokyo Ri and the exploration of the glacial lakes of Gokyo. Gokyo Ri offers the panorama of the world’s highest peaks from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taweche, and to the east rises Mt. Makalu. Then you will get back to the hotel for the lunch. Post lunch you will be exploring the beautiful lakes of Gokyo. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse. 

Day 9 : Trek to Thagnak (4,750m/15583ft./5/6 hours’ trek)

One of the best days of the trek. The short hike leads you to Gokyori to collect the stunning views of Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche, and more. After collecting the wonderful views at Gokyo Ri, you will be then taking a descending route to Thagna for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse. 

Day 10 : Cross Tsho-la (5,367m/17608ft.) and trek to Dzongla(4,830 m /15846ft./7/8 hours’ trek)

You will be starting the day pretty early. The first section of the route is uphill leading towards Tsho La over the rocky moraine. The route gets tougher if there is snow and ice. The walking is always exciting as it covers the greater views of Cholatse, Nirekha, and Taboche peaks. From the top, the route converts downhill to get to Dzongla for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge. 

Day 11 : Trek to Lobuche(4,910 m/16108ft./4/5 hours’ trek).

Starting after breakfast, the walk leads to a short steep climb with greater views of mountains, then take a gradual uphill to reach Thugla, then take further through the Khumbu glacier to get to Lobuche. The sunset view at Lobuche looks stunning. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse at Lobuche. 

Day 12 : Trek to Everest base camp(5364m./17598ft.) via Gorakshep and back Gorakshep. (5140m./16863ft./7/8 hours trekking).

On the most exciting day, you will first trek to Gorakshep for three hours. You will then have your lunch there. Post lunch, leave your bag packs and start the hike to Everest base camp with some essentials (a day pack, water, a camera, and some chocolates). It takes ninety minutes to get to base camp from Gorakshep. Enjoy the moments, collect the memories, and leave a footprint at Everest base camp. Then retrace back to Gorakshep for the night. 

Day 13 : Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m./18192ft./2 hours’ hike) and trek to Pheriche. (4210m./13812ft.)

Early morning, get to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise view. Kalapatthar is the better place to see closer views of Mount Everest. Collecting the sunrise view at Kalapatthar is the best experience of the whole trek. You will then get back to Gorakshep for breakfast, before taking the way back to Pheriche. You will be following the same way back to get to Pheriche. You will be spending your night at one of the many teahouses at Pheriche. 

Day 14 : Trek back to Namche Bazar (3440m./11286ft./5/6 hours trekking)

The easy and pleasant way. Although the distance is a bit longer, the route is mostly descending. You will be crossing the familiar village of Pangboche, Tengboche before getting back to Namche Bazar. At Namche Bazar, you can go to the café to enjoy the good coffee and the fresh bakes. 

Day 15 : Trek back to Lukla (2800m./9186ft./ 5/6 hours trekking).

Retrace the same way back, that you have followed up. Get the final glimpse of Mount Everest, enjoy the stunning trails, and a piece of good luck to the trekkers going up. At Lukla, you will be saying goodbye to your porter as well.

Day 16 : Scenic flight to Ramechhap and driving back to Kathmandu.

After collecting all the greatest memories of the trek, today you will be flying back to Ramechhap and driving back to Kathmandu and you will be transferred to the hotel where you can take a relaxing rest. 

Day 17 : Final departure.

With all the finest memories, today you will be flying to your next destination. Our representative will be transferred to Kathmandu airport. With the hope of seeing you again in Nepal, we will be saying bye this time.
