Overview

One of the most sought treks, Everest base camp trek is the best high-altitude trek. The jaw-dropping views of mountains, unique Sherpa culture and the diverse natural aspects are the major picks of the trek. Moderately hard trekking, the maximum elevation a trekker get during the trek is 5,545 meters above the sea level at Kalapatthar. Everest base camp trek also offers to visiting some of the historical Buddhist monasteries, including Tengboche and Dingboche monasteries. The exciting local villages of Sherpa, stunning mountain view points of Everest view point, Nagarjun hills and Kalapatthar are the best part of the trip. Similarly, Namche Bazar- the Sherpa capital is another attraction of EBC trek. 
Like other treks in Nepal, Everest trek is also a seasonal trek. The best time to trek to EBC is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Although trekking Everest in the months of winter (December to February) is also possible. But trekking Everest in monsoon (June to August) is not appropriate.
Your Everest base trek starts with exploring the historical and cultural city of Kathmandu. You will then be taking a scenic flight to Lukla- the gateway to the Everest. Lukla onwards, your exciting Everest trek starts. It then gradually goes to Everest base camp (5364m.). Afterward, visiting Kalapatthar (5545m.), you will be retracing back to Lukla again.  Next day, you will be taking a short flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla to end the trek.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, A1 Trek representative welcomes you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. You can then take a good rest in the hotel. Later you can explore around yourself if interested.

Go for Kathmandu valley sightseeing to explore the historical and cultural city. The sightseeing is dedicated on exploring four of the UNESCO world heritages listed sites of Kathmandu valley. Those four sites include- Kathmandu durbar square, Soyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath.
After the sightseeing, you can then focus on the trek preparation. You can hire or buy the necessary equipment in Thamel. In the evening, you will be meeting your guide for the trip meeting.

With an early morning flight, you will be arriving Lukla airport. At Lukla, meet the porters before the starting the trek. The route to Phakding is easy one. Just keep on your eyes as the finest views of Kusum Kanguru can be collected. Phakding is a small settlement in the Dudh Koshi river bank. Enjoy a comfortable night stay at the Phakding teahouse.

Start the day with a good breakfast. Get into to Monjo then enter to Sagarmatha National park- the home for the greatest Himalayan flora and faunas. The dense forest of blue pine, deodar, rhododendron and more. On the clear day, you can also catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way up to Namche Bazar. With six hours of trek, you will be reaching Namche Bazar- which is also famous as the Sherpa capital. Namche is the home for the famous mountaineers. You will be staying two nights at Namche before heading up.

After the breakfast, you will be hiking up to Everest view point to collect the 360 views of mountains. The view point offers the stunning views of Himalayas including mount Everest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Namche Bazar or can take a good rest in your hotel.

After spending two amazing nights at Namche Bazaar, you will be trekking Tengboche this day. The route to Tengboche is fascinating as it covers the greatest views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and more. Tengboche is the village with the biggest Buddhist monastery in Everest. Make sure to visit Tengboche monastery. Later in the evening, you can collect the greater view of sunset in the Himalayas. The overnight will be at a local teahouse.

Start the hiking after the breakfast. The route to Dingboche is mostly uphill where you will be crossing several suspension bridges and local villages. One of the best villages you cross on the day is Pangboche village-which offers the greater views of mount Ama Dablam. Occasionally, this section offers the spotting of snow leopard and Himalayan musk deer too. Located at 4410 meters above the sea level, Dingboche is a small settlement, where you will be spending two nights.

After the breakfast, take a short hike to Nagarjun hills. It is the vintage point to collect the best views of mount Ama dablam, Lhotse, Labuche and more. Then after retrace back to the lodge and spend the day with taking a good rest.

Enter the valley of dusted snowed grasslands, you can enjoy the greater views of Amadablam, Lhotse, Pumori and more along the way. Labuche todays’ overnight place is a small Sherpa settlement with few teahouses around. Take a good sleep with the excitement of getting to Everest base camp next day.

The most exciting day, you will first trek to Gorakshep for three hours. You will then have you lunch there. Post lunch, leave your bag packs and start the hike to Everest base camp with some essentials (day pack, water, camera and some chocolates). It takes ninety minutes to get to base camp from Gorakshep. Enjoy the moments, collect the memories and leave the footprint at Everest base camp. Then retrace back to Gorakshep for the night.

Early morning, get to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise view. Kalapatthar is actually the better place to see the closer views of Mount Everest. And collecting the sunrise view at Kalapatthar is the best experience of the whole trek. You will then get back to Gorakshep for the breakfast, before taking the way back to Pheriche. You will be following the same way back to get to Pheriche. You will be spending your night at one of the many teahouses at Pheriche.

The easy and pleasant way. Although the distance is bit longer, the route is mostly descending. You will be crossing the familiar village of Pangboche, Tengboche before getting back to Namche Bazar. At Namche Bazar you can go the café to enjoy the good coffee and the fresh bakes.

Retrace the same way back, that you have followed up. Get the final glimpse of mount Everest, enjoy the stunning trails, wish a good luck to the trekkers going up. At Lukla, you will be saying good bye to your porter as well.

With collecting all the greatest memories of the trek, today you will be flying back to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu airport you will be transferred to the hotel where you can take a relaxing rest.

You can take an entire day on resting at Kathmandu. You can also go to the spa or massages to give some relief for your tired body. You can also do some shopping in Thamel.
