Overview

Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek is one of the best treks around. The adventure around the high Himalayans and the wonderful Sherpa villages is stunning. Exploration of the glacial lakes of Gokyo valley, witnessing the vibrant Sherpa cultures and traditions are exceptional.  And more interestingly, collecting the panoramic views of the high mountains including Mount Everest is astonishing.
The extended version of Everest base camp trek also includes of crossing the high Himalayan pass of Cho la and the views from GokyoRi are stunning. Whereas exploring the Buddhist monasteries of the Everest region are also the part of the finest trekking.
Like other trekking in Everest, Everest Gokyo lakes trek is also a seasonal trek. The best time to trek to Gokyo lakes are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Trekking Everest Gokyo Lakes is also fine in the month of December. But the other two months of winter (January and February) are not the best time. Whereas, trekking in the months of monsoon (June to August) is not recommended due to the heavy rain fall.
Basically two permits are needed for the Everest Gokyo Lakes trek. The first permit needed for the trek is Sagarmatha National Park entrance fees. Likewise, the next permit needed for the trek is PasangLhamu Municipality entrance fee. Both of the permits can be issued on the way to the trek.
