Overview

Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto La Pass Trek is a combined trek inside the Annapurna region to explore Tilicho Lake and cross one of the high Himalayan passes of Mesokanto La pass at 5099 meters. The overwhelming adventure goes around the scenic Annapurna region to create a lifetime experience. Popular for the diverse landscapes and the greater mountain views, this trek adds an extra dimension with the extension of Mesokanto La pass at 5099 meters above the sea level.
The exciting trip starts from the lower elevation and gradually rises up to 5099 meters above the sea level at the high pass. Walking through the excellent alpine forest of rhododendron, pines, and magnolia through the diverse landscapes, the trek also allows exploring the local cultures and the traditions of the locals. The inclusion of Tilicho Lake is something special-located at the elevation of 4949 meters from the sea level, it has special meaning for the Hindus. 
The route offers the wonderful views of Annapurna and Manaslu peaks with Lamjung Himal. Whereas the exciting and challenging high pass of Mesokanto La is the major pick of the trek. Likewise, Manang village is another fantastic place to be. In Manang, you can visit the local village and explore the living style and can get to know about the cultures and traditions of the people. Jomsom is the next wonderful place of the trek. Wrapping up with a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara makes this trip even better.
Like other trekking in Annapurna Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto La Pass trek can be done in the months of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Whereas, the months of the winter (December to February) are also doable. But trekking in the months of monsoon (June to August) is not recommended due to the heavy rainfall.

Itinerary

Upon arriving at Kathmandu international airport, one of our representatives will be welcoming you in a traditional way. Then you will be transferred to the hotel. In your free time, you can take a good rest or can explore the local market.

You will be taking part in the full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing. The program is dedicated to explore the four of the UNESCO world heritage listed sites in Kathmandu. The four sites include- Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Temple, Soyambhunath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. After the sightseeing, you can prepare the needed stuff for the trek. If you do need to buy or hire anything then, your guide can show you a good place.

After breakfast, you will be starting the beautiful journey of AC trek. Taking the Nepal mid-west highway to Besisahar first. The drive continues on the dirt road of Khudi, Bhulbule, and finally to Syange. It is the place where you will be spending your night.

The trek officially kicks off. You will start with an uphill climb Jagat first. Here you will be leaving Marsyandhi river behind. Following the winding path, get to Chamje to meet the eastern bank of the river again. As the trek continues, you can enjoy the excellent views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.  You will then finally reach Dharapani for the night. Dharapani is a small village and is the meeting point of the Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking. You will be spending the night at a local teahouse.

The trek resumes after the breakfast. Taking the wide winding trail through rhododendron and pine forest, you will first be passing a small yet beautiful village of Bagarchap. You will then gradually get to Danque then to Timing. You are now officially entering the area with reach Buddhist culture. In the final section, you will be passing Koto before getting to Chame village. You will be spending your night at Chame at a local lodge.

From here onwards air gets cooler and fresher as the walk leads close towards mountains, a morning walk through an alpine forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with few short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. Overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peaks, a possible lunch break here, and then afternoon walk descends to reach at lower Pisang village for an overnight stop.

Start the day with breakfast. You will then start the trek with the great views of mountains and surrounding landscapes. The route slowly starts gaining altitude and offers the greater views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Chulu, and more. From Hongde village, the tree lines disappear and the cold weather welcomes you. Along the way to Manang. You will get a chance to visit Braga monastery. Then get to Manang village for the overnight.
Manang village is a village with a rich culture and traditions.  You will be spending two nights here in Manang.

On the free day explore around the beautiful village of Manang. You can enjoy the greater views of Annapurna II-III and the Gangapurna mountain range. Additionally, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald Lake would be a good fit for the day.

From Manang village, you will be taking a diverted route from the main Annapurna circuit route to reach Khangsar first. Then you will be further trekking to Tilicho base camp for the night. There are few teahouses around in base camp. It will be an overnight place for the day. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

The big day of the trip is here. You will be starting early morning to cross the high passes. You will be the first crossing the Tilicho pass then will be descending to the Mesokanto La base. After some time, rest in the base camp, you will be then giving the final shot to pass the Mesokanto La at 5099 meters. You can collect a wonderful view of the mountains from the ridge. Upon completing the climb, you will be then descending to Nama Phu for the night. You will be staying overnight at a tented camp.

The reserved day as the contingency is in case of the bad weather conditions. If everything goes right, you will not need the rest day.

After a wonderful yet challenging day, you will be trekking an easy downhill section today with amazing views of Mount Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks. The trekking will be of seven to eight hours to reach Kaisang for the overnight. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

You will be taking a downhill route to get back to Jomsom. Jomsom is the headquarter of the Mustang region. You can explore around the local village in the free time. You will be spending the night at a local lodge.

With an early morning flight, you will be getting to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can do a half-day sightseeing to explore Phewa Lake, Devis Falls, and Gupteshwor cave. In the evening, you can collect a good sunset view from Phewa Lakeside.

Collecting the great memories of the Ghorepani trek, you will be driving back to Kathmandu this day. In the evening, you can do some last-minute shopping around Thamel. Then you can prepare your luggage.

After an amazing week in Nepal, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport to catch your returning flight home. Our representative will be helping you to transfer to the airport, with a hope to see you again in Nepal.  “FERI BHETAULA”.
