Langtang valley and Gosaikunda Lake trek is a wonderful trip around the remote and mesmerizing areas of the mid-west Himalaya valley. The Langtang valley and Gosaikund lake trekking includes visiting the vibrant Langtang valley and then exploring the sacred lake of Gosaikunda. Langtang Trekking covers major three trekking routes, those are Langtang valley Trek, Tamang Heritage Trek, and Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
The exploration of vibrant Tamang villages and witnessing the living style of the people is extraordinary. With the amazing Buddhist cultures and the traditions with their own customs and the languages, the trip also offers to collect the greater views of the Langtang Himalayan range. The walk through the dense forest of rhododendron and magnolia, the route offers the occasional encounter of the endangered red panda. Whereas, you may also see the Himalayan black bear along the way. The trek also includes visiting the sacred lake of Gosaikunda lake.
The origin of the Trishuli river, Gosaikunda lake is a pilgrimage for the Hindus. During the festival of Janai Purnima- thousands of devotees travel to the lake to take the holy bath. There is a myth that says that Lord Shiva still sleeping in the middle of the lake and one can see lying him even today.
Lauribina La passes at 4609 meters is another highlight of the trip. The challenging high pass in the Himalayas offers greater views of mountains and leads to the beautiful villages of Kutumsang and Chisapani.
Like other trekking in Nepal, Langtang valley and Gosaikunda Lake trek is also a seasonal trip. The best months to trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Whereas, trekking to Langtang is also possible in the months of the winter (December to February).

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport, you will be welcomed by our representative. You will be then transferred to the hotel. Later, you can take a good rest or can walk around the local market in your free time.
The starting day of the wonderful Langtang valley trek. Today you will be driving to Syabrubesi via Trishuli Bazar and Dhunche. The drive is through the green hills, local villages via Trishuli river bank. Whereas, occasional mountain views are expected on the clear days. You will be spending your night at a local hotel in Syabrubesi.
The trek officially starts from today. The route from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel is a gradual climb through the terraced farm fields and the villages. Trekking through the rhododendron and oaks forest is an exciting walking. At the Lama hotel, you will be spending your night at a local teahouse.
Take the good breakfast in the hotel before the trek resumes. The route to Langtang village from Lama hotel is an easy walk. Passing Ghoretabela, then to pine and rhododendron forest, you will be slowly getting towards the higher elevation. Upon arriving at Langtang village, you can explore around the beautiful village. You will be spending your night at a local lodge.
The route to Kyanjin Gompa from Langtang village is a gradual uphill. The route has a wonderfully crafted “Mani Prayer Wall” and remember to walk clockwise to respect the Buddhist religion. Furthermore, getting closer to Kyanjin Gompa, the greater views of the mountains opens up.
Kyanjin Gompa is a mountain viewpoint with an amazing view of Langtang Lirung and other mountains. You can also explore the Buddhist monastery here. You will be spending your night at a lodge.
The day is dedicated to exploring around and a side hiking trip to Tserko Ri. Tserko Ri – the mountain viewpoint offers the greater views of mountains including Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal (7,405 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m), Kimshun (6,745 m) and Shalbachum(6,918m), Chimsedang, Naya-Kanga or Ganja Chuli (5,846m), Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak, Jugal Himal and ending to eastern horizon at Dorje Lakpa (6,980m). After collecting the good views of the mountains, you will be retracing back to Kyanjin Gompa for the night.
You will be resuming your trek after the good breakfast. You will be following the same route back to Lama hotel for the night. You will be spending your night at a local lodge.
The route from today diverts from the main Langtang valley trek route. Upon crossing a bridge, the route enters to a bamboo forest. Leaving the river behind, you will then start climbing the uphill to reach to Thulo Syabru. Located above the ridge, it is a wonderful village with a Buddhist monastery. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.
Climbing above the monastery, you will be rewarded with the greater views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, and Annapurna in the far west. After collecting the sensational views, your walk continues to the uphill to reach to Sing Gompa. Sing Gompa is actually also known as Chandanbari. At Sing Gompa, you can explore the monastery and can taste the Yak cheese too. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.
One of the tough walking days as you will be walking at a higher elevation. The walk to Gosaikunda lake offers wonderful views of snowcapped mountains including the Ganesh Himal range, Manaslu, and Annapurna range. Upon reaching the Lauribina top, the route then is slightly uphill through some flat trail. Upon reaching Gosaikunda lake, you can explore the beautiful lake. You can then go around the lake and explore the sacred lake. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.
After crossing the Lauribina La pass, today you will be having an easy walking. The route from here joins the Helambu trek route. With the greater views of Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, and the Manaslu mountain range, you will be first reaching to Tharepati. From there you will the trekking further to Kutumsang for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.
The easy walk with a combination of uphill and the downhill, you will be first reaching to Gul Bhanjyang. A wonderful local village, you can take a break at this point. You will be then continuing your walk to reach to Chisapani for overnight. Chisapani is a wonderful local village with good views of the Himalayas. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.
The final day of the trip. With a short morning trek, you will be getting to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal, you will be taking a wonderful drive back to Kathmandu to end the exciting trip.
After an amazing week in Nepal, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport to catch your returning flight home. Our representative will be helping you to transfer to the airport, with a hope to see you again in Nepal. “FERI BHETAULA”.
