Pisang Peak Climbing 

Pisang Peak is a 6,091-metre (19,980 ft.) Himalayan Peak is located in the Manang District of Nepal in the Annapurna Region. It is reflected to be a relatively easy peak to climb, making it a popular destination for beginner mountaineers.

The peak is situated in a large amphitheater, with the mountain’s north side rising suddenly from the Marshyangdi River valley. The mountain’s south side is more gradual, and the peak can be accessed from the Pisang village.

The climb to the summit of Pisang Peak is considered to be relatively easy and can be done in a few days. The route follows a steep trail up to the base camp at 4,380 meters (14,370 ft.), from which climbers ascend the peak in two stages. The first stage involves climbing a snow-covered ridge, and the second involves crossing a rock face. From the summit, climbers can enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna II and the surrounding peaks.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m./4429ft).

Upon arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, one of our representatives will traditionally welcome you. Then you will be transferred to the hotel. In your free time, you can take a good rest or explore the local market. 

Day 2 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing and preparation.

You will be taking part in the full-day Kathmandu Valley sightseeing. The program is dedicated to exploring the four UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. The four sites include- Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Temple, Soyambhunath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. After the sightseeing, you can prepare the needed stuff for the trek. If you need to buy or hire anything, your guide can show you a good place. 

Day 3 : Drive to Syange (1460m./ 4790ft./7/8 hours’ drive).

After breakfast, you will be starting the beautiful journey of the  Annapurna Circuit trek. Take the Nepal mid-west highway to Besisahar first. The drive continues on the dirt road of Khudi, Bhulbule, and finally to Syange. It is the place where you will be spending your night.  

Day 4 : Trek to Dharapani (1,920 m/6299ft./ 5/6 hours trek).

The trek officially kicks off. You will start with an uphill climb to Jagat first. Here you will be leaving the Marsyandhi river behind. Following the winding path, get to Chamje to meet the eastern bank of the river again. As the trek continues, you can enjoy the excellent views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.  You will then finally reach Dharapani for the night. Dharapani is a small village and is the meeting point of the Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking. You will be spending the night at a local teahouse. 


Day 5 : Trek to Chame (2670m./8759ft./5/6 hours trek).

The trek resumes after breakfast. Taking the wide winding trail through rhododendrons and pine forest, you will first be passing the small yet beautiful village of Bagarchap. You will then gradually get to Danque and then to Timing. You are now officially entering the area with reaching Buddhist culture. In the final section, you will pass Koto before leaving Chame village. You will be spending your night at Chame at a local lodge. 

Day 6 : Trek to Pisang (3,230m./10597ft./ 5/6 hours trek).

From here onwards air gets cooler and fresher as the walk leads close to mountains, a morning walk through the alpine forest of rhododendrons and pine trees, following the Marshyangdi River upstream with a few short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. Overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peaks, a possible lunch break here, and then an afternoon walk descend to reach lower Pisang village for an overnight stop. 

Day 7 : Rest day at Pisang for local hikes and acclimatization.

The day is dedicated to acclimatization to adapt to the thin air. In your free time, you can explore the local village of Pisang. A short hike around walking to the higher elevation and getting back to Pisang will be helpful. You will be staying overnight at a teahouse. 

Day 8 : Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp (4,380m/14370ft./4/5 hours trek).

Heading north above the Pisang village, you will first reach Kharka. Kharka is a yak pasture. From there onwards you will be hiking to the top ridge near the Pisang peak for the night. Your guide will be setting up the tented camp there. You will be staying overnight at a tented camp. 

Day 9 : Trek and climb to High Camp (5,400 m/17716ft./3/4 hours trek).

Relatively shorter day of the trip, walking on the rocks, ice, and glacier path, you will be getting up to the high camp for the camp. Upon arriving at the high camp, your guide will be setting the camp for the night. You can then take a good rest with the good views of the mountains. You will be staying overnight at a tented camp. 

Day 10 : Rest day.

The day is to adapt to the thin air and prepare for the final climb. Today your guide will be checking the best assailable route to the top. You can rest well and reserve the energy for the big day. You will be staying overnight at a tented camp.

Day 11 : Climb Pisang Peak (6091m./19983ft./) and return to base camp (8/9 hours).

Starting early morning, the first section of the day is over the moraine and ice falls to the ridge which is the last snow slope. Then following the steep rocky and technical section you will be reaching the summit of Pisang Peak. The top of Pisang Peak offers the greatest views of Mount Annapurna ranges plus the Chulu peaks. The scenic views of Mount Manaslu can be collected from the top too. After the successful summit, you will be then retracing back to the base camp for the night. You will be staying overnight at a tented camp. 

Day 12 : Reserve day in case of bad weather condition.

The extra day is dedicated in case of bad weather. If everything goes right, this contingency day is not needed for the trip. 

Day 13 : Trek to Manang(3,500 m /11482ft./5/6 hours trek).

After the successful climb of Pisang Peak, this day you will be trekking to Manang village for the night. The route to Manang is an easy trail with excellent views of Annapurna II and III, GangapurnaChulu’s, and Pisang Peak.  First, reach to Hongde village, then the gradual walks lead to Braga, where you can visit the Braga monastery. Then with a few hour's push, you will be reaching Manang for the night. You will be now staying overnight at a local teahouse. 

Day 14 : Trek to Yak Kharka (4,110 m /13848ft./4/5 hours trek).

The trek after breakfast. Leaving Manang, you will be trekking towards Ghunsang village. Then the uphill route takes you to Yak Kharka. Yak Kharka is a wonderful village with superb views of mountains. The mountains that can be seen here are Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Chulu Peaks. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse. 

Day 15 : Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m/15091ft./4/5 hours trek).

Leave Yak Kharka after breakfast. The route heads towards the Thorang High Camp crossing the bridge and climbing along the river bank of Jarjung, and then to ThorangPhedi. ThorangPhedi is an alternate overnight place of Thorang High Camp. From ThorangPhedi you will be walking further to Thorang High Camp for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge. 

Day 16 : Cross Thorang-La (5,416m./17769ft.) and trek to Muktinath(3,800 m/12467ft./7/8 hours trek.)

One of the hardest and biggest days. Start the journey early morning with a packed breakfast. The first section is a steep climb to reach Thorang La. The top offers excellent views of snow-capped mountains and great landscapes. Spend some time at Thorang La before making the final descent to Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred place to Hindus and Buddhists. Whereas, the literal meaning of Muktinath is salvation. You will be staying at a local teahouse at Muktinath. 

Day 17 : Trek to Jomsom(2, 715 m/ 4/5 hours trek).

Explore the temple in the morning. Then you will be taking a downhill route to get back to Jomsom. Jomsom is the headquarters of the Mustang region. You can explore the local village in your free time. You will be spending the night at a local lodge. 

Day 18 : Fly to Pokhara.

With an early morning flight, you will be getting to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can do half-day sightseeing to explore Phewa Lake, Devis Falls, and Gupteshwor Cave. In the evening, you can collect a good sunset view from Phewa Lakeside. 

Day 19 : Drive back to Kathmandu (6/7 hours’ drive).

Collecting the great memories of the Ghorepani trek, you will be driving back to Kathmandu this day. In the evening, you can do some last-minute shopping around Thamel. Then you can prepare your luggage

Day 20 : Final departure .

After an amazing week in Nepal, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport to catch your return flight home. Our representative will be helping you to transfer to the airport, with the hope of seeing you again in Nepal.  “FERI BHETAULA”.
