Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary 

The Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary is a planned schedule outlining the Activities, routes, and duration of trekking to the base camp of Everest. People are very curious to see or want to reach the base camp of the world's highest peak. Typically, the itinerary includes a detailed plan of the starting point to an ending point. Daily trekking distance overnight stop, acclimatization days, and key attractions along the trail.

The itinerary serves as a guide for trekkers, helping them navigate the challenging terrain, manage their physical excretion, and ensure proper Acclimatization to high altitude. This trek itinerary provides a structured plan for experiencing the breathtaking landscapes, Sherpa Culture, and Himalayan vistas while trekking in the Everest Region of Nepal. This region is popular as Khumbu Valley and situated at Sagarmatha National Park. While you fly up to Lukla, the trek begins in the Khumbu Valley. Khumbu Valley is known as the headquarters of Sherpa  

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1334m. /4376ft.)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, the Adventure A One Trek representative welcomes you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. You can then have a good rest in the hotel. Later you can explore around yourself if interested. 

Day 02: Drive to Ramechhap and Fly to Lukla (35 minutes/ 2800m. / 9186ft) then trek to Phakding (2610m. /8500 ft./4/5 hours trekking).

With an early morning drive to Ramechhap around 5 hours and a flight to Lukla. You will be arriving at Lukla airport. At Lukla, meet the porters before starting the trek. The route to Phakding is an easy one. Just keep your eyes open as the finest views of Kusum Kanguru can be collected. Phakding is a small settlement on the Dudh Koshi river bank. Enjoy a comfortable night's stay at the Phakding teahouse.

Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m./11286ft./ 5/6 hours trekking).

Start the day with a good breakfast. Get into Monjo then enter Sagarmatha National Park- the home to the greatest Himalayan flora and faunas. The dense forest of blue pine, deodar, rhododendron, and more. On a clear day, you can also catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest on the way up to Namche Bazar. After six hours of trek, you will be reaching Namche Bazar- which is also famous as the Sherpa capital. Namche is the home of famous mountaineers. You will be staying two nights at Namche before heading up.

Day 04: Hike to Everest viewpoint (2 hours hike/3780m. /12401ft.) And Namche Bazar exploration.

After breakfast, you will be hiking up to the Everest viewpoint to collect 360 views of the mountains. The viewpoint offers stunning views of the Himalayas including Mount Everest. Later in the afternoon, you can explore Namche Bazar or have a good rest in your hotel. It is one of the famous places in Khumbu Valley. 

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3800m./12467ft./4/5 hours trekking)

After spending two amazing nights at Namche Bazaar, you will be trekking Tengboche on this day. The route to Tengboche is fascinating as it covers the greatest views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and more. Tengboche is the village with the biggest Buddhist monastery in Everest. Make sure to visit the Tengboche monastery. Later in the evening, you can collect a greater view of sunset in the Himalayas. The overnight will be at a local tea house.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4410m./14468ft./4/5 hours trekking)

Start the hiking after breakfast. The route to Dingboche is mostly uphill where you will be crossing several suspension bridges and local villages. One of the best villages you cross on the day is Pangboche village which offers greater views of Mount Ama Dablam. Occasionally, this section offers the spotting of snow leopards and Himalayan musk deer too. Located at 4410 meters above sea level, Dingboche is a small settlement, where you will be spending two nights. 

Day 07: Hike to Nagarjun Hills (5000m./16404 ft./2 hours hike).

After breakfast, you should take a short hike to Nagarjun Hills. It is the vintage point to collect the best views of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Lhotse, Labuche, and more. Then retrace back to the lodge and spend the day taking a good rest. 

Day 08: Trek to Labuche (4910m./16108ft./ 4/5 hours trekking)

Enter the valley of dusted snowed grasslands, you can enjoy the greater views of Amadablam, Lhotse, Pumori, and more along the way. Labuche today’s overnight place is a small Sherpa settlement with a few tea houses around. Take a good sleep with the excitement of getting to Everest base camp the next day. 

Day 09: Trek to Everest base camp (5364m. /17598ft.) Via Gorakshep and back Gorakshep. (5140m./16863ft./7/8 hours trekking).

Today is the most exciting day, you will first trek to Gorakshep for three hours. You will then have your lunch there. Post lunch, leave your bag packs and start the hike to Everest base camp with some essentials (a day pack, water, a camera, and some chocolates). It takes ninety minutes to get to base camp from Gorakshep. Enjoy the moments, collect the memories, and leave a footprint at Everest base camp. Then retrace back to Gorakshep for the night. 

Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m./18192ft./2 hour’s hike) and trek to Pheriche. (4210m. /13812ft.)

Early morning, get to Kalapatthar to collect the best sunrise view. Kalapatthar is the better place to see closer views of Mount Everest. Collecting the sunrise view at Kalapatthar is the best experience of the whole trek. You will see the best view of Khumbu Glacier from the Kalapathar.  You will then get back to Gorakshep for breakfast, before taking the way back to Pheriche. You will be following the same way back to get to Pheriche. You will be spending your night at one of the many tea houses at Pheriche. 

Day 11: Trek back from Pheriche to Namche Bazar (3440m./11286ft./5/6 hours trekking)

The easy and pleasant way. Although the distance is a bit longer, the route is mostly descending. You will be crossing the familiar village of Pangboche, Tengboche before getting back to Namche Bazaar. At Namche Bazaar, you can go to the cafe to enjoy the good coffee and the fresh bake. 

Day: 12: Trek back to Lukla (2800m./9186ft./ 5/6 hours trekking).

Retrace the same way back, which you have followed up. Get the final glimpse of Mount Everest, enjoy the stunning trails, and wish good luck to the trekkers going up. At Lukla, you will be saying goodbye to your porter as well.

Day 13: Scenic flight back to Ramechhap 20-minute flight and drive back to Kathmandu.

After collecting all the greatest memories of the trek, today you will be flying back to Ramechhap and Driving back to Kathmandu. Transferred to the hotel where you can take a relaxing rest.  

Day 14:  Final departure.

With all the finest memories, today you will be flying to your next destination. Our representative will be transferred to Kathmandu airport. With the hope of seeing, you again in Nepal, we will be saying bye for this time. 

Conclusion:

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey or departure from Nepal. This itinerary provides a comprehensive trekking experience to Everest Base Camp, allowing for proper acclimatization and exploration of the stunning Himalayan landscapes along the way.
