The Everest Three Passes Trek is an adventurous high-altitude trek in the Everest Region of Nepal. It takes trekkers through the three high-altitude passes of the Himalayas:  Kongma La (5535 m), Cho La (5420 m), and Renjo La (5345 m).

The trek starts from Lukla after a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu. The trail ascends to Namche Bazaar and then onto Thame, the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. Trekkers can take in stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Cho Oyu (8188 m), and Nuptse (7879 m).

The trek then continues to Gokyo and onwards to the high-altitude passes of Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjo La. During the trek, trekkers can witness some of the most beautiful Greater Nepal Himalayan landscapes, such as the Ngozumpa Glacier, Dudh Kunda Lake, and the Gokyo Valley. The trek will also take you through some of the world's highest villages, such as Gokyo and Thame.

However, Gokyo and Thame villages offer a unique type of people’s stay, their lives, and culture. The Trek is a strenuous one and requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization.

Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake Trek

Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake Trekking is one of the best treks in Nepal.  which is known as the ChoLa Pass Trek. The adventure around the high Himalayas and the wonderful Sherpa villages is stunning. Exploration of the glacial lakes of the Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the most popular. Whereas trekking in the months of monsoon (June to August) is not recommended due to the heavy rainfall.

The Everest trek is a great way to explore the culture and traditions of the Sherpa people. Similarly, you can see the spectacular mountain scenery and terraces of fields.  The Everest Short Trek starts with a flight to Lukla, a small mountain airport in the Khumbu region.

You can find good food and teahouses on most of the Everest region's trekking routes. Whereas the expedition should be done in the tented camps. There is no such means of transportation available inside the region. Up from Lukla, the transportation methods are the human porters, yaks, mules, and the chopper only.  Being so remote, this region has nice food and accommodation facilities, though. Not much faster, but the region also has internet connectivity on most of the trek routes.
The best time to travel inside the Khumbu region is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Although tripping in the months of winter (December to February) is also doable. However, the months of monsoon (June to August) are not recommended due to the heavy rainfall.
