Best Time to Trek to Everest Base Camp

Best Time to Trek to Everest Base Camp

The ideal times for trekking to Everest Base Camp are the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon. As you can get off from work or business, you can choose the best time and plan your trip to Nepal. We want to break off these periods for the Nepal trekking time.

Spring Season Trek in Nepal (March to May) Pre-Monsoon

Pre-monsoon time, the weather is mild and stable with clear skies. The scenery is so beautiful blooming Rhododendrons and other flowers. The visibility of the mountain is excellent, and trekkers' crowds of trekkers are moderate to high, but the trails and teahouses are well prepared for the trekkers.

Most of the travelers at this time will be going to take a peak climb and climb to Mount Everest as well. So springtime is better for doing an expedition compared then trekking.

A higher number of trekkers can make the trails, Teahouses, and Hotels busy.

Autumn Season Trek in Nepal (September to November) Post Monsoon

In the Autumn season, the weather is perfect for clear skies, mild temperatures, and beautiful greenery. The scenery is fresh, lush landscapes, sometimes cloudy and rainy as well in the Nepal Himalayas. The visibility is just outstanding to see the mountains and nature. Similarly, you will have a chance to experience local festivals like Dashain and Tihar. These two festivals are the biggest celebrations of Nepali (Hindu) people.

This season is far better for exploring greenery in the lowland, and the higher mountains are covered with ice.

This is one of the busiest seasons for the trek, and you can easily expect crowded trails and busy teahouses on the Everest Base Camp Trekking Trail.

Winter Season Trek in Nepal (December to February)

In the winter season, there are very few trekking routes that are very easy to do, like Everest Short Trek, the Everest Panoramic View Trek, and the lower land trekking are very comfortable at this time.

If you want to challenging trek, then you can choose the Everest Base Camp. But other high passes and peak climbing will not be a good choice at this time. The winter season is the best time for trekking in Nepal because this time of year has fewer trekkers. The view of the high Himalayas is so good and beautiful, but in a lowland, it will be much cloudier.

Monsoon Season Trek in Nepal (June to August)

Nepal is separated into three major physiographic regions known as the Himal, the Pahad, and the Tarai. Monsoon season trekking in Nepal is possible in different areas of Nepal. Which I mentioned below. Himal is a mountain Region containing snow and situated in the Great Himalayan range. So, behind the great Himalaya range, there will be less rain you can go trekking in those areas. Like Upper Mustang Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Rara Lake, and the Dolpo trek.

Similarly, you can do some tours like the Kathmandu tour, the Kathmandu Pokhara tour, and the Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara Tour. Those are several destinations for monsoon-time trekking in Nepal.

Monsoon Season trekking in Nepal in June, July, and August. Tour in Nepal is a nice and friendly temperature in the southern part of Nepal, like Chitwan National Park, Bardia Jungle Safari, Lumbini, and many other historical places.

Mainly for Trekking, Upper Mustang, Annapurna Circuit, and Upper Dolpo Trek are the major Trekking destinations during the monsoon. There is less vegetation and the Tibetan plateau. It receives very little rain in this area.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking in the monsoon season is beautiful in the dry part. The upper part of the Annapurna circuit trek is Manang District fewer vegetation areas and less rain. While you are starting the Round Annapurna Trekking, there will be heavy rainfall, slowly increasing up meaning there will be less rain.

Many other treks are also possible to do in the Monsoon season. Mountain views are often obscured by clouds, the temperature gets high, and it rains daily. You will get fewer crowds during that period. Everest Region, Annapurna Region, and Langtang Region trekking will be possible.

Overall, the Best Time to visit Everest Base Camp is better to do in high seasons like autumn and spring, but if you are looking for fewer travelers on the way and want to enjoy nature better to do it in lower seasons like Winter and the Monsoon season. In the monsoon season, you should take your holiday more because sometimes the flight will be delayed for a week due to the weather. Monsoon time is always best for the back of the high Himalayas because that part is less rainy, the walking path is better to explore, and less visitors at this time.
